In 2021, the European Cleaning and Hygiene Technology Research Association (FRT) celebrated its thirtieth anniversary; the association was founded in 1991 by renowned companies in the field of cleaning and hygiene technology.
As a research association, FRT is authorized by the DLR Project Management Agency to submit applications for funding for pre-competitive research projects within the framework of funding program “Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung (IGF)” of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). These projects serve in particular to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
In parallel to its member companies, the FRT has also expanded its activities in the recent years continuously. Today, the cleaning, reprocessing and hygiene of various materials are examined within IGF-projects.
Examples include besides the classical cleaning of buildings and industrial plants, industrial parts and clean rooms also medical devices, medical instruments and implants.
Many companies actively support the work of the FRT by their activities in the various FRT-committees. In addition, many companies collaborate in the Project advisory boards of the IGF-projects and support them through project-related expenditures of the industry (vAW).
Furthermore, in recent years, numerous working groups were formed, compiling the cleaning and care recommendations on various current issues of the cleaning and hygiene technology. The results of these working groups are available to all interested companies and associations and are of immediate use in practice.
